Christopher Pekoc
Five (State II) [cream], 1998
Waterless lithography
10 ¼ x 5 inches
Edition of 50
Christopher Pekoc’s Five (State I) and Five (State II) demonstrate the artist’s enduring fascination with the form, function, and expressivity of human hands. Pekoc references his unique process of creation through an illusionistic surface texture and utilization of color, mimicking the style and aesthetic of the fragmented printed photographs hand-stitched together with various ornamentations. These prints were created to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland.
Christopher Pekoc was born in 1941 in Cleveland, OH. He has been in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including at the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra, Australia (1994); Amarillo Museum of Art, Amarillo, TX (2014); Akron Art Museum, Akron, OH (2015); and Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland, OH (2019). Pekoc currently lives and works in Cleveland, OH.
