Fraternity is a later work by Maria Lassnig in which she depicted her recurring theme of “body awareness.” In the center of the piece, two figures lay intertwined. The arms and legs of the figures wrap around one another, creating a singular form. Lassnig created this print in conjunction with her exhibition at the Contemporary Arts Center in 2008, her first US exhibition.
